Kasigram Public Programme

and inauguration of the 21st branch of the

Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Sankirttan Mahamandal

Week ending 29 October 2004

Sripad B.N. Acharyya Maharaj makes offerings into the sacrificial fire, as Sripad B.S. Jitendriya Maharaj (of our Dum Dum Park Temple) chants mantras and pours ghee on the fire.

Meanwhile cooking has been taking place continuously since before dawn.
This deep vat for kittri was dug from the earth and then lined with new plastic sheet and straw matting.

One of many containers of subji (cooked vegetables).
And one corner of the vast Prasad distribution that took place throughout most of the afternoon.

Being still the traditional holidays for Durga-puja, the school compound was used for distribution...
...as well as the field where our Kirttan and Hari-katha took place.

With the cooks pressed back into service, the final count of plates and quantity of rice cooked confirmed that all original estimates were well exceeded, with a total of 12,000 Prasad servings distributed during this one afternoon.
