On
the day of Srila Gurudev's birthday several devotees made him
beautiful cards. He received them with much love and affection.
This is the card Vaisnavi Devi Dasi made.
Just
two days after Gurudev's birthday there was a preaching program
at a place called the 418 Project. It was organized by Arindam
Das Prabhu to extend the preaching activities at the Soquel Seva
Ashram.
Both
Sripad Ashram Maharaj...
...and
Sripad Siddhanti Maharaj were there to represent His Divine Grace
at this event.
The
devotees had sankirttan for about two hours. Many people were
chanting, and accepting the Holy Name enthusiastically. Sripad
Ashram Maharaj stood up at one point and everybody was dancing
in a circle. The mood was very jovial.
Krishnapriya
DD was there filming the program.
Madhumati
arrived with Jagadananda Prabhu to preach and enliven the sankirttan
party.
Muralimohan
and Anandanidhi Prabhus.
After
bhajans the Swamis spoke before the guests that had come for the
show tonight. Everybody that came was aware that this was a benefit
for the Seva Ashram in Santa Cruz.
After
the preaching came the drumming. There were two bands that played
that night. This group was called 'Goddess of Funk.' The lead
singer introduced the band and said she was very happy to be here
tonight to help the Ashram.
Jayalaksmi
Didi, a disciple of Srila Govinda Maharaj brought her band 'Lost
At Last.'
They
chanted the Names of Krishna and Chaitanya, everybody there chanted
along and danced.
Outside
of the concert area is a restaurant called 'The Jumping Monkey'
that the devotees have just opened. They will be serving Indian
food in the future and inviting people to the ashram. Anupama
Devi Dasi helps out at the restaurant by painting a mural of Hanuman
on the wall. The work is in progress.
The event was successful in terms of the preaching and outreach
that went on that night. We hope to see new guests at this coming
Sunday feast. It was a very positive experience and it felt
great to see so many devotees together at this event. Our well
wishes to the devotees around the world!
