No,
not a monkey high in a tree behind Srila Sridhar Maharaj's Samadhi
Mandir in Nabadwip Dham...
...but it's one of the brahmacharis! He is holding
a long stick with a notch on the end -- the perfect tool for picking
fruit hanging high on the branches of the mango trees.
With
great balance and dexterity he reaches up...
...and
passes down freshly picked green mangoes.
The
process continues for some twenty minutes, one mango after another.
He shifts from branch to branch with confidence.
Mission completed, he slowly makes his way off the
branches and down the main trunk...
...and onto the roof of a nearby building.
The
mangoes go straight to the ladies nearby who are busy preparing
vegetables for the bhoga offering. Fresh mango chutney is one of
the preparations for Their Lordships today.
