~Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur’s Smarana-mangala-stotram, verse I

"In the heart of my heart I remember that Divine Son of Sri Jagannath Misra, whose form appeared in holy Mayapur by His own internal potency. He graciously arose from the ocean of Sri Saci's womb when the moon of this world was swallowed (eclipsed) by Rahu on the full moon evening of Phalguna month, 1407 Saka era.”

"You are brightening the line of the followers of Sri Rupa Goswami. Your effulgence, which is comparable to that of the sun, is known throughout the whole world."

"With this conception, all our hopes, our prospects, our honour, our good name--everything will become as brilliant as the early morning sun ('guru-gana-sire punah sobha paya sata-guna--All desirable objects, when offered to our Gurus, become glorified one hundredfold, as Their crown-jewels'). In the presence of the self-effulgent sun we can never feel ourselves to be destitute."
~Srila Govinda Maharaj

The sumptuous offering to Mahaprabhu was lovingly prepared by the ladies of Portland and Eugene headed by Maladhari Devi Dasi.

The devotees have cared for Srimati Tulasi Devi with much dedication and care throughout the freezing Oregon winter.

tulasi dekhi’, judaya prana madhava-tosani jani’
~Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur's Suddha Bhakata

"The sight of the holy tulasi tree soothes my soul, for I know she gives pleasure to Lord Krishna."

"One who is aspiring to become a pure devotee should never desire anything else but to purely serve and give joy to the Lord of his heart. When one is unconscious of everything else—“Let it be, whatever He may like”—that is pure devotion for Tulasi, or whomever we are praying to. If one has got that higher sukrti, that suddha-bhakti, the seed of Prema-bhakti, then he won’t be able to think of anything else but Krishna’s pleasure. He’ll think only of the pleasure of his Lord, cent percent, forgetting his own body, mind—everything. That is the purest type of prayer."

"All the people thus chanted the Hare Krishna maha-mantra during the lunar eclipse, and their minds were struck with wonder.

When the whole world was thus chanting the holy name of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna in the form of Gaurahari advented Himself on the earth."
