The Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math

At the time of its humble beginning, Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Maharaj wrote the following verse, predicting the future greatness of the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math:
srimac-caitanya-sarasvata-mathavara udgita-kirtir jaya-srim
bibhrat sambhati ganga-tata-nikata-navadvipa-koladri-raje
yatra sri-gaura-sarasvata-mata-nirata gaura-gatha grnanti
srimad-rupanuga sri-krtamati-guru-gauranga-radha-jitasa
"On the banks of the Ganges in Koladwip, Navadwip, the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math shines resplendent. The flag flies high, singing the Math's glories to the world. There the residents sing the glories of Lord Gauranga and aspire to serve Sri Sri Radha Govinda in the line of Srila Rupa Goswami."

Located in the holy land of Navadwip, in West Bengal, India, the Temple of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math was founded in 1941 by Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj.

Situated about seventy-five miles north of Calcutta, the land of Navadwip is famous for being the place of the Appearance and Pastimes of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The word Saraswat refers to the spiritual line and followers of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur, the Spiritual Master of Srila Sridhar Maharaj and Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupad.

Srila Sridhar Maharaj has stated: "Here in Navadwip, we find a happy place where the Absolute is the most generous in His benevolence. When the Absolute is distributing Himself, He becomes Sri Chaitanya-dev. And that Sri Chaitanya-dev, in the highest stage of His mercy, is found here."
