Upgrading the parking lot in San Jose

Between earth settling and nettle abounding, the parking lot of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Seva Ashram, San Jose, was overdue for a proper concrete pad.

A long, solid driveway was included when we acquired the property in 2000, leading to a large grassy area for parking the many guests' cars. As the law of gravity dictated, this area was sinking and compacting so much that it was difficult to retrieve a car back onto the driveway. And weeds burst forth prolifically. The dreaded nettle, although nice to cook, stings the unsuspecting like a bee. After several evenings of preparation, an expert crew poured the whole area in concrete on April 10.
