Kurukshetra is a holy city that is also known as Dharmakshetra (a place of duty). Kurukshetra means the "Land of the Kauravas" which is the site of the Kurukshetra battle between the Kauravas and Pandavas of the epic Mahabharata and the setting for Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
